About
Wormy
Wormy lists every flea, tick and worm treatment registered for pets in Australia, and what each one is registered to treat. I'm Kate. I just live here. Kate
Where the data comes from
Every product on Wormy is on the APVMA's register of agricultural and veterinary chemical products, PubCRIS. The APVMA publishes the register as files on data.gov.au and updates them every week. Wormy imports them, and keeps the registrations for dogs, cats, rabbits and birds that are registered against a parasite.
From the register we take each product's name, registrant, poison schedule, form, active constituents and their amounts, pack sizes, and the animals and pests it is registered for. A registration that drops off the register is marked "no longer registered".
How long a dose lasts, the weight for a size called "medium", the pack photo and the brand's own page are not on the register. We add those from the label and the brand's site, and say when we last checked.
What "registered" means
When a product page says it's registered for paralysis tick, it means the APVMA has approved that claim on the label. It doesn't mean Wormy has tested it, or that it will work the same way for every animal.
Each weight band of a product is its own registration with its own APVMA number. Wormy groups them into one product, with a size for each weight.
What Wormy doesn't do
- No rankings. Lists sort by how much of what you picked a product covers, then by name. Nothing is "best".
- No prices or shop links. Nobody pays to be listed, and nobody pays to be higher.
- No veterinary advice. Check the label, and ask your vet about a pregnant, very young or unwell animal, or any animal that has had seizures.
