Rabbits 24

Few flea and mite products are registered for rabbits. Use only one whose label names rabbits. Some products that are safe for cats and dogs, including fipronil, can be fatal to rabbits.

Rabbits mostly need treatment for fleas and mites: ear mites, which cause crusting inside the ear, and fur mites, which cause flaky skin and hair loss. They can also carry ticks.

The products below are the ones whose registration names a rabbit. Doses for rabbits can differ from the cat or dog dose of the same product, so follow the rabbit directions on the label.

Rabbits are sensitive to many treatments. Do not use a dog or cat product on a rabbit unless the label says so, and ask a vet who sees rabbits if your rabbit is young, old, or unwell.
